Music album “Getting ready(準備中)” review

The music album I would like to introduce is “Getting ready(準備中)”released in July 2015. In this album, all the songs sung by Eason Chan. All the lyrics of songs are written by Yuen-Leung Poon. Both of them are Hong Kong popular artists. Also, they are native born and bred although Eason used to be exchange student in London. Therefore, their works filled with Hong Kong memories and feelings.

To study deeply, the album producer"Jim Lee" find "Eric Kwok" , "曲世聰” and other classic musicians whose are familiar with Eason and his singing style and texture of voice. Thus, they made the "old school" music and songs, but it has been easy to let his fans and other Hong Kong audience feel touched.

“老細我撇先” is one of the songs in this album. For the English name, it is “Boss I'm leaving early” One of the lyrics is “加班多過睡眠”, which means that a lot of Hong Kong people working overtime, even more than the sleeping time. It reflects the working environment and phenomenon in Hong Kong. “度掂又盤算 老細你算點?” is denunciation from the employees. Indeed, a lot of the bosses make trouble without reason and be stingy to all the expense from employees commonly in Hong Kong. “我今晚需要差電 別再急CALL等我出現 啤酒一罐一罐 蒲埋BAR先 蒲埋K先” reflects the night life of Hong Kong People, like drinking and singing karaoke , to release the pressure.

“人生馬拉松” is the theme song of Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon. It means our life is the same as Marathon. We should not be giving up. The main message is that everyone has the common belief – passion. Therefore, we have passion for all interests and habits and we will be successful In fact, the whole song is associated with a metaphorical expression, which is “the spirit of Lion Rock”. So, it is intimately related to Hong Kong people. “精不精彩 總結在 我愛” written by the Yuen-Leung Poon to express the importance of passion.

“夢的可能” is the last song in the album. It lets all Hong Kong people rethink “dream”. The reasons why this song are arranged to be the last song is that the producer hopes us not forget to dream finally. In fact, this song is affected by a Hong Kong verse “冇夢想同條鹹魚有咩分別?” in Hong Kong movie ”少林足球”. “總要問，跟我心” is one of the lyrics that means we need to ask for the answer progressively. So, we need pursue what we need.

“起點終站” is composed by Nichole Tse. It is a classic song writer in Hong Kong. In this song, “攜手走過漫長漫長路間 誰管它有幾個幾個站” tributes to the old song “三人行” “漫長漫長路間 我伴我閒談”. I think it is a creation of  time thinking hard about the past.

To sum up, “Getting ready(準備中)” is a great album in Hong Kong. It is on behalf of a memorable history and belief of Hong Kong people. There is no doubt that the Eason’s voice is belong to Hong Kong and we should cherish it.
